God calls a church family to look beyond itself and to act with compassion. Our church sees it as a privilege that we can make a difference by being involved in our community, our state, our nation, and the world. (John 3:16 reminds us of the scope of God’s love: “God so loved the world”.) That involvement is what is often referred to as ‘missions’.

We have found that when we, regardless of age,  serve others without looking for anything in return — we grow so much more in understanding God and becoming the people He made us to be. We partner with a variety of faith groups who are at work from just outside of our church’s door all the way to Africa. Most recently, our adult members participated in construction projects following natural disasters in efforts to share and live out News of Jesus.

Our youth have taken multiple missions trips to the Washington D.C. and other areas in the Southeast as well. Even our children are helping to make this world a better place and spread the love of God. At various times through the year they collect items for other less fortunate children in our state.   Each year Vacation Bible School focuses on another culture and collects an offering to be used in serving children in another land. In 2010, it was for Indonesian children.
