We have all learned the hard way that no matter how hard we try we just can’t eliminate things that mess up our relationships, disappoint us about ourselves, and push God away.  That 'just try harder' system turns out only to lock us into patterns of recycling the same old problems, dooming us to never know whether or not we are good enough.

What God has done is to break us out of that. Instead of making it all about what we have done, God has made it all about what Jesus has done for us. Jesus lived the life that we could not and paid the price we would not. So now through Jesus’ actions, we can receive God’s incredible offer to have a fresh start in this life. It has a totally different purpose and a completely different outcome from our old life. And that is ‘good news’.

You receive this greatest of gifts by believing in your heart that Jesus is the only one worthy of trusting with all that you were, all that you are, and all you will be. For His part, when you do God has promised He has a “yes” waiting (2 Corinthians 5:20) when you do. 

People who begin to trust Jesus are often surprised by the confidence He gives them to tackle their most troubling problems. When you place your life in His care, you will discover God offers incredible joys and amazing peace even in your daily life. That is why the angels at Jesus’ birth called it ‘good news of great joy’.
